1. What happens if the user forgets their combination and locked out?
If the user forgets their combination, the mastercode can be used to change the combination back to the |
2. What happens when the battery runs out?
The miniK10 is designed to last up to 10 years depending on functions used. The red light will blink 5 times after each use as a low battery warning for 100-150 times before the battery runs out. On the front of the lock there are two nodes to where a battery can be connected long enough to enter in the code and open up the lock to change the battery. For more information, click here |
3. How easily can the knob be torqued to break into the lock?
This lock is designed to pop internally when more force than required to open the lock is applied. This action disassociates the connection between the torque action placed upon the knob whereby it does not turn the cam. The next time the correct code is entered, the lock can be used as normal. |

4. Why is the red LED light flashing 5 times after every time I use the lock?
Congratulations! You have received many years of service from the lock. It is now time to change the battery. The LED light will flash 100-150 uses prior to the battery running out. Open up the back of the lock of the lock and replace the 3.0V Lithium CR2450 battery. |
5. The hole in my current application is slightly larger at 3/4?
Most retrofit applications will have the hole size as 3/4. That is why we have included the 5/8" adaptor which is designed to retrofit the 3/4" hole, installed with the lock. The MiniK10 is a very compact, lock with no requirement for a large profile for installation. |
6. I forgot my password, what now?
Contact the individual that would have the master code to the lock and with that code they can reset your combination to factory default and you can set your new password. See manual on how to reset. Page 2. |
7. I entered in my password 3 times and I got locked out?
This means that you were entering the wrong code and the owner of the combination lock has programmed it to lock you out after 3 incorrect code entries (by factory default, this option is turned off). You will need to wait 5 minutes and then enter in the correct combination. If you forgot your combination, see #6 above. |
8. When installing, how do I know if my door is right or left handed and how to configure the stop cam on the back of the lock?
Most installations are right handed. However, go here for clarification on which handing you have and how to set the stop cam. |
9. What can I use to clean my combination lock?
You can clean the lock with a damp cloth with mild detergent (if needed). Do not use any hard or scratching cleanser on the lock. Also, do not clean with chemical materials that might melt the plastic (e.g. thinner, acetone, etc.). Also be careful not to spill water on the lock. |
10. How would I install the MiniK10 on a drawer?
The current product would work, albeit on some drawer applications the lock would need to be turned horizontal and the numbers would be sideways. We will be bringing out a product in the future with the numbers right side up when installed horizontally or at 180 degrees for drawers. Click here for more information. |

Problem Solving |
Lock is in the open position. I put my code in, get a green light and hear the motor whirl that unlocks the solenoid. I turn back left but the knob will not move. You have the stop cam on backwards. Reverse the stop cam. See this PDF file for more info |

The temperature is below 32 degrees and my lock will not work or it opens but will not close. This product has a lithium battery and the battery does not perform well below freezing (similar to cell phones and other devices.). If this is in a vehicle and the car is warmed up and battery returns to above 32 degrees, the lock will perform normally again. You can also have a spare CR 2450 battery that is warm to temporarily supply power. Click here for details |
Lock stays in unlocked position and when entering code, both red and green lights come on at once with a long beep. See Video Here This is a similar situation as the temperature issue above. Battery needs replaced. |
There is a battery tab over the battery and I can not remove the batttery. We have a couple generations of our lock where the small battery tab at the top needs to be snapped off to remove the battery (battery is slightly larger and tight). Quick and easy to do See Video Here |
